Can I enter multiple riders into an event?

  • Yes. Our online entry system enables team managers, parents or club representatives to enter multiple riders at a time into an event. The system will remember the riders that have been entered into earlier events, so that entering multiple riders into future events is quick and simple.

How much will it cost me to use the British Cycling online entry system?

  • Registering to use the British Cycling online entry system is free. Riders then pay a £1.00 application fee per race or ride entered. If, for example, a rider puts two events into their shopping basket and checks out, the total charge to them will be £2.00. The application fee is non-refundable and enables British Cycling to remain cost neutral and transparent.

What happens to my entry fees when I use the British Cycling online entry system?

  • Entries taken through British Cycling’s online entry system are passed on to the event organiser. If the event is set up on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis, entries are accepted upon successful payment of the entry fee.
  • If the event is set up on an ‘organiser selects field’ basis, successful entries are chosen by the event organiser from the field of riders who apply. As such, completion of an application is not a guarantee of entry.
  • Upon acceptance of an entry, the payment card used to make the application is debited and the rider receives a confirmation email of their place in the event.
  • For some events, acceptance into an event may happen some days or weeks after the application is made. Riders are advised to have sufficient funds available on their payment card to account for this.
  • A rider whose application is rejected by the event organiser will not be charged any entry fees for the event in which they have applied to ride. However, the application fee which covers the cost of dealing with the application, remains non-refundable.

How will I know if my entry is accepted or rejected?

  • You will automatically receive confirmation emails throughout the online entry process. Any further queries around the event entry should be directed at the Event Organiser using the Contact Us menu option above.

What happens if I am accepted into an event and my card payment then fails?

  • You will still be accepted into the event. However, you and the organiser will each receive an email explaining that the system was unable to collect your entry fee. In the event that this happens (e.g. if your payment card has expired between you entering the event and the Event Organiser accepting your entry), it becomes your responsibility to pay the Event Organiser directly in an alternative way (eg by cheque, PayPal, cash on the day etc).

If the event is cancelled or postponed, will I get a refund of my entry fee?

I’ve entered and paid but cannot cycle on the day. Can I get a refund, or can I give my entry to someone else?

  • Entries are not refundable or transferable in these circumstances., but we hope you will feel that the charities involved are deserving of your fee..

If you authorise a refund of the entry fee, when will I get my refund?

  • If we use British Cycling’s online entry system to facilitate the refund process, you will be notified via email and if the transaction is successful, you will receive the refund within 3 working days. The refund will be paid onto the card originally used to enter the event.
  • If the British Cycling transaction is unsuccessful, you will be notified by email to contact us to arrange this directly.
  • British Cycling have no part in the refund process if we choose to refund riders directly (e.g. via PayPal, BACS.)
  • All correspondence regarding the refunds must be directed to us, not British Cycling.

Who benefits from the money raised?

The money we raise will go to Transplant Sport and the Berkshire Cancer Centre Charity Fund.  Details of these are given on the Home page. The organisers are all unpaid volunteers, giving up their time freely. Through the generosity of our sponsors, we are able to maximise the amounts we give to our charities. From the 2018 Fleet Flyer we raised over £6000 for our chosen charities.
